Dry Stains

For All Types of Backsplashes: Gently brush off any dry, loose debris using a soft brush or a microfiber cloth. This is particularly important for textured tiles where particles can settle in crevices. For substances that are adhered to the tile, such as dried food splatters, carefully use a plastic putty knife to gently scrape off the residue. Avoid using metal tools that can scratch the surface.

Liquid Stains

Water-Based Stains: Wipe up spills immediately with a soft, absorbent cloth to prevent the liquid from seeping into grout lines or porous tiles. For stains that don’t come off with water alone, use a mild detergent mixed with water. Apply the solution with a cloth or sponge, gently rubbing the stained area.

Oil-Based Stains: If the spill is recent, blot up as much oil as possible with a paper towel or cloth before it sets. Create a paste using baking soda and water. Apply this paste to the stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. The baking soda will help absorb and lift the oil from the tiles. After the paste has set, gently scrub the area with a soft brush or cloth, then rinse with water and dry with a clean towel.

For grout stains, you can mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a paste. Apply it directly onto the stained grout lines. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then gently scrub with a soft brush or old toothbrush. Rinse with water and dry.
